About Highway 20 in California

California state highway 20 begins near the Pacific Ocean and heads east through the Mendocino Range and crosses Dunlap Pass. It increases in elevation along the North Fork Big River and descends into the Little Lake Valley and Willits. In Willits, it overlaps with Highway 101 until it reaches Redwood Valley. Highway 20 intersects Highway 53 and follows the North Fork Cache Creak to the Lake County-Colusa County Line. In Williams, Highway 20 crosses Interstate 5, overlaps Highway 45 and then continues east to Yuba City. West of Yuba City, Highway 20 crosses Highway 99 and continues east to cross the Feather River on the 10th Street Bridge.  In Marysville (Yuba County), Highway 20 makes several turns and leaves Marysville to the northeast along the Yuba River, where it enters the Sierra Nevada. In Grass Valley (Nevada County), Highway 20 joins Highway 49 on the Golden Center Freeway until Nevada City, where Highway 49 heads northeast and Highway 20 continues east. Highway 20 ends at Interstate 80 just north of Emigrant Gap at Yuba Pass.
